Founded in summer 1974 by Tim Kramer, Encina Bicycle Center operates locations in Clayton and Walnut Creek, CA, carrying Trek, Specialized, Santa Cruz, Electra, Surly, Breezer, and Teravail. The shop offers free lifetime tune-ups on all bikes purchased there, bike rentals (at the Walnut Creek location near Mount Diablo and the Iron Horse Trail), demo bikes, custom builds, trade-ins, and financing with 25% deposit. Certified Specialized mechanics and a staff of professional mountain bikers and BMX riders staff both locations, and the shop has supported local youth sports and cycling teams.
