Founded in 1998 as a weekend warehouse shop in San Francisco, Sports Basement has grown to 15 California locations with dedicated in-house bike and ski shops. The Redwood City location carries Cannondale, Surly, Felt, Breezer, Aventon, and Teravail alongside Shimano and SRAM components. The chain hosts over 5,000 events annually and distributes 10% of profits through its Basementeers membership program to local schools and nonprofits; staff are active community members and volunteers.
