Does Richard's Bicycles offer custom wheel building services?

Yes. The shop specializes in custom wheelsets and employs Mike, a wheel builder with over 25 years of experience in the bicycle industry. Customers can build custom American Classic, Chris King ISO Disc, and other wheelsets in 26", 29er, and 650b sizes using the shop's online wheel builder tools.

What makes Richard's Bicycles' wheel building process distinctive?

Mike hand-preps and individually tensions each spoke using Spoke Tite, paying attention to detail throughout the build process to ensure wheels remain true long-term. The shop emphasizes that Mike is the sole wheel builder, maintaining consistency and quality control rather than rotating multiple builders.

What wheel hub brands does Richard's Bicycles specialize in?

The shop specializes in custom builds featuring Chris King ISO Disc hubs (available in 10 colors with 72-point engagement and a 5-year warranty) and American Classic hubs, known for lightweight designs. Both hub types are available in multiple axle configurations.
