Dan's Bike Shop was founded in 1940 by Carl Schwanderlik as a bicycle-rental operation and evolved into Carl's Bike Shop with three Chicago-area locations before relocating to Berwyn under Dan's ownership. Now located at 6715 W. Roosevelt, the shop carries Specialized, Retrospec, and Marin bikes, with models spanning mountain (Rockhopper, Rockhopper Sport), hybrid (Roll, Sirrus X), and road (Allez, Diverge). All new bikes include a lifetime frame warranty and two years of free tune-ups; the service department handles repairs for kids' bikes through adult bikes of all types, excluding e-bikes and motorized bicycles. The shop also offers bike rentals and is locally known for Woody the pedaling mannequin in its front window.
