The Bike Lane is located at 2130 N. Milwaukee Ave in Chicago's Logan Square neighborhood and is owned by Max Hertz and Jon Timmins. The shop offers custom bike building through its Build Your Own Bike (BYOB) program, alongside full service including tune-ups, heavy overhauls, custom wheel builds, suspension service, and Chris King service. It hosts monthly social rides (April: September, second Thursday, 6pm departure, ~20 miles at 13 mph average) and carries brands including Shimano components and All-City, Sim Works, Chris King, Ultradynamico, and Rodagira.
