The Salty Spoke is a nonprofit community bicycle cooperative located in Sitka, Alaska, operating under a sliding-scale membership model that grants access to tools, equipment, and on-duty mechanics during Saturday open hours (11am: 2pm). The shop refurbishes and donates used bikes to partner organizations serving at-need populations, offers bike maintenance workshops and educational programs, and explicitly centers women, youth, Indigenous bikers, and lower-income community members in its mission to decolonize cycling and build equitable access to safe, affordable transportation.
