About
Founded in Haines in 1987 by Thom Ely, Sockeye Cycle operates two full-service shops in Haines and Skagway and specializes in guided day and multi-day supported bicycle tours throughout Alaska, Northern British Columbia, and the Yukon. The shop carries Salsa, Surly, 45NRTH, Teravail, Benno, Aventon, Specialized, SRAM, and Shimano, and offers rentals, repairs, and retail alongside its tour operations. Now owned by long-time General Manager Dustin Craney (since 2019), it is certified with Adventure Green Alaska for sustainable tourism and supports First Nations cultural centers and regional conservation organizations.
