Founded in 2018 by Samson McHugh and Hayley Wickstrom out of a basement, Waxwing Cycles moved to the baggage building at Edgewood Train Station in Pittsburgh's Edgewood neighborhood. The shop specializes in custom builds assembled frame-up to individual specifications, non-cookie-cutter tuneups with pre-ride testing, and carries 3T, Ibis, and OPEN bicycles alongside components from Shimano, SRAM, Campagnolo, ENVE, and Chris King, with accessories from Apidura, Assos, Kask, and others. Service spans road, gravel, triathlon, and mountain riding.
