Question 1

What is the typical turnaround time for bike repairs at Biketek?

Accepted Answer

In-season (March through September), tune-up turnaround is two weeks due to the complexity of modern bicycles and five full-time mechanics managing demand. Off-season, tune-ups typically take three to four days. Simpler repairs like inner tube replacement are usually completed same day or next day.

Question 2

Does Biketek work on bikes from other brands?

Accepted Answer

Yes, Biketek services all brands of bicycles regardless of where they were purchased. The main exception is mass-market and internet e-bikes, for which parts are often difficult to source.

Question 3

How does Biketek handle repair scheduling?

Accepted Answer

Biketek no longer schedules repair appointments. Instead, repairs are completed in the order bikes are dropped off, so customers are encouraged to bring in their bikes as soon as service is needed. A mechanic provides a cost and time estimate before work begins.

Question 4

What is included with the purchase of a new bike from Biketek?

Accepted Answer

Every new bicycle sold by Biketek includes unlimited free tune-ups and adjustments for one year from the date of purchase. The shop recommends bringing bikes in at least twice during the break-in period for bolt re-tightening, wheel truing, and cable adjustments.

Question 5

Does Biketek pack and ship bikes?

Accepted Answer

Yes, Biketek packs bikes with professional-grade foam pipe insulation for $90, which includes all labor and materials. Shipping costs typically run $150 for standard bikes (45 lbs) and $250 for e-bikes (75-80 lbs). Customers must set up their own BikeFlights insurance label in their name and email it to the shop.

Question 6

What recognition has Biketek earned for its Aventon and Rad Power inventory?

Accepted Answer

Biketek has been a top 20 Aventon dealer in the United States (out of over 1,000 stores) every year since 2021 and is the largest Rad Power Bikes dealer in Pennsylvania.
