About
The Milwaukee Bicycle Collective is a volunteer-driven 501(c)(3) non-profit founded in 2002 and located in the Merrill Park neighborhood. It refurbishes donated bicycles across road, mountain, hybrid, cruiser, tandem, kids, and specialty categories (unicycles, folding, recumbent), then sells them affordably to the public with one year of free service included. The shop operates an open-shop DIY repair program where volunteers guide visitors through bike maintenance on a suggested $5: 10/hr donation basis, and runs a youth program distributing refurbished bikes through partner organizations starting at $15. Volunteers can earn bike credit at $3/hr after refurbishing two bikes for sale.
