Mike's Bikes opened in 1987 as a college repair shop and used-bike dealer in downtown Charleston, founded by Mike Keck. The shop has grown to two locations (Folly Road on James Island and Coleman Boulevard in Mt. Pleasant) totaling over 4,500 square feet, carrying Giant mountain, road, and comfort bikes; Electra beach cruisers, townies, and commuter models; BMX; and kids bikes. Services include repairs for all makes and models, wheel truing, tune-ups, build-ups, and custom fittings, with all new bikes backed by a year of tune-ups and manufacturer frame warranties.
