Makeshift Bikes is a small repair shop and community education space on Pittsburgh's Northside at 431 E. Ohio St. Founded as a pop-up repair stand nearly seven years before opening its current location, the shop has been dedicated to bike repair and hands-on teaching, with support from local institutions including the Allegheny Commons Community Garden and the YMCA. The shop offers tune-ups and general repairs, free DIY stand use for members (or $5: 10 for non-members with help), a limited selection of used bikes for sale, and accepts bike and parts donations.
