Gunnar Cycles builds TIG-welded steel frames in Durango under the Abracadabra Fabrication umbrella, alongside the brands Waterford and Sanitas. Founded in the 1990s by Richard Schwinn as a price-point-forward alternative to high-end custom bikes, Gunnar was named after the shop dog and aimed to offer stock-geometry steel entry points. In 2023, after Waterford's fabrication plant closed, Abracadabra Fabrication acquired the Gunnar legacy and continues production under three partners with decades of frame-building experience.
