Mountain Bike Specialists was founded as The Outdoorsman in 1968 by Ed Zink, a Durango native who pivoted the general sporting goods store to a dedicated bicycle shop as cycling culture grew. The shop carries Specialized and Norco mountain bikes, road bikes, gravel bikes, e-bikes, and kids' bikes, with bike maintenance and repair services. Located in Durango, Colorado: host of the 1990 World Mountain Bike Championships and home to the Iron Horse Bicycle Classic: the shop has been integral to the region's trail community and continues Ed Zink's legacy of supporting local cycling organizations, youth racing programs, and charitable giving.
