Bike Plant is a worker-owned bicycle repair shop in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, located on Tompkins Avenue between Hart and Pulaski. The shop specializes in durable wheel builds using Phil Wood, Sapim, and DT Swiss spokes with brass nipples, built for demanding conditions from long touring to urban commuting. Beyond wheel building, Bike Plant offers general repair assessment and service, classes, and operates a community Repair Fund that has subsidized 398 repairs and created one scholarship as of June 2024, supporting riders who cannot afford necessary repairs.
