Village Bicycle Project is a Seattle-based nonprofit that distributes bicycles and maintenance training to rural communities in Ghana and Sierra Leone. The organization has sent 159,000 bicycles and trained 26,000 people in repair skills, with specific programs targeting women and girls. Rather than a retail bike shop, VBP couples subsidized bicycles with hands-on mechanic training, specialized tools, and spare parts to build sustainable local cycling culture.
