Speed's Bicycle Shop has operated since 1978, founded by Milton Leis when he was a high school freshman repairing bicycles in his parents' barn. Located in Sparta, Wisconsin at 1126 John Street with direct access to the Elroy-Sparta and La Crosse River trails, the shop carries Specialized bicycles and offers repair service on all makes and models, a rental fleet of 80+ bikes including mountain, comfort, tandem, recumbent, and electric-assist models, and a large selection of parts and accessories. The business expanded in 1989 to its current location and now operates both the bike shop and an electric motor repair business from the same building.
