Owen Cyclery was founded in 1973 by Tom Owen, a mechanic who began by serving the Chattanooga Bicycle Club: an organization Owen started in 1967 to promote cycling safety and community events including the annual 3 State 3 Mountain and Sequatchie Valley Century rides. The shop is located in Hixson, Tennessee, and has been owned and operated by Erik Hunt and Brian Lowery since 2002, when they took over after Mr. Owen's retirement. The shop carries Cannondale, Salsa, Surly, 45NRTH, Teravail, and Shimano/SRAM components, and specializes in road, mountain, commuter, and kids' bikes alongside repair and custom builds.
