Olympia Cycle & Ski was founded in 1979 by Lindsay Gauld, a Canadian Olympic road racer (1972 Munich), as a dedicated bike and ski shop in Winnipeg; it became a standalone business in 1983. The shop carries Shimano components and serves the full range of cyclists and skiers with repair services, e-bike certification, kids' trade-up programs, and group-ride coordination. Current ownership (as of 2021) includes Robb, who coaches children through the Kids of Mud program, and Phil, a 30+ year veteran of bike retail.
