Family-owned since its founding by John Nemjo, Mountainman Outdoor Supply Company has operated as the Adirondacks' leading outdoor retailer for decades. Recently taken over by Britta and Devlin Hennessy in 2023, the shop is located on the Moose River shoreline in Old Forge, NY, combining a boat shop, rental operation, and gear store. In 2025 the company opened a dedicated bike shop on property selling, renting, tuning, and repairing e-bikes and mountain bikes alongside Giant, Kona, and Shimano components. The broader operation carries over 1,000 canoes and kayaks in stock across 20+ brands, paddling accessories, and 4,000 square feet of outdoor clothing, footwear, and camping gear.
