About
Dick Sonne's Cycles, Fitness & Skis opened in Utica in 1964 and relocated to New Hartford; the shop was founded by Dick Sonne after his return from World War II service, with the mission of promoting bicycles as tools for health, fitness, and transportation rather than toys. His son Steve acquired the business in 1984 and has maintained that focus on getting people involved with cycling. The shop carries Giant, Salsa, Specialized, and Shimano, offers complete tune-ups, repairs, and warranty tune-ups with every bike purchase, and hosts free maintenance clinics and events throughout the year.
