Founded in 1989 and established in 1990, Marty's Mountain Cycle is located in Esquimalt, just across the bridge from downtown Victoria, BC. The owner Marty, a former BMX racer in the 1980s, shifted focus to mountain biking as the freeride movement emerged in BC and built the shop into a hub for South Vancouver Island's riding community. The shop carries Evil and Kona, offers custom wheel builds (pre-stressed with warranty tension), suspension service (fork lower leg and shock air can service), and brake work, along with rentals and complete tune-up packages. Year-round conditions in the region: deep forests, mild winters, and mineral-rich soil: keep the shop active across seasons.
