Yes. Kul Wheels offers 2-hour rentals for $45, 4-hour rentals for $75, and full-day shop rentals for $115. The shop also conducts guided tours including Food, Farms & Forts; Lily Pads & The Lilly Pad; The James Rocks; We Eat Hills; and Ride the Vine, priced from $65 to $125.

What are the requirements and restrictions for renting or joining a tour at Kul Wheels?

Accepted Answer

Riders must be able to confidently ride a bike, be at least 16 years old (those under 18 must be accompanied by an adult), have a valid photo ID, and wear a helmet. Kul Wheels requires confident riders to ensure safety on Richmond trails and streets; guests deemed unable to ride safely will be prohibited from participating without refund. Intoxicated riders or those exhibiting unsafe behavior such as jumping will also be prohibited.

What is Kul Wheels' cancellation and late-return policy?

Accepted Answer

Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours before the scheduled time via phone or email with written confirmation to receive a refund. Riders must arrive or contact the shop no later than 15 minutes after the confirmed rental time, or payment will be forfeited. Late returns incur a charge of $25–$50 per hour or portion thereof.

What happens if an e-bike breaks down during a rental or tour?

Accepted Answer

All bikes are checked before each rental, but breakdowns can occur. Riders should call Kul Wheels immediately at (804) 205-3452. Kul Wheels will attempt to repair electric components (battery, throttle, pedal assist). However, riders are liable for transport costs for the bike and rider back to the shop and any repair costs, unless Kul Wheels is proven negligent. No refunds or credits are issued for breakdowns, including flat tires.

Does Kul Wheels cancel tours due to weather?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Kul Wheels will cancel tours if forecasts indicate thunderstorms, hurricanes, sleet, snow, or winds of 20 mph or greater, or if temperatures are below 45°F or above 100°F at ride time. The shop may offer a rain check to another date (subject to availability) or a refund.

Question 6

What should riders wear and bring for a rental or tour with Kul Wheels?

Accepted Answer

Riders should wear shorts, skirts, fitted pants, or jeans; comfortable closed-toe shoes (no flip-flops); and sunglasses and sunscreen. For tours, tipping guides 10–20% of the tour price is customary, so bringing extra cash is recommended.
