Free Range Cycles has been woman-owned since 1997 and is located in Seattle's Fremont neighborhood just off the Burke Gilman trail. The shop specializes in steel bikes of the utilitarian wide-tire variety, carrying Salsa and Surly, and serves commuters, bike packers, cycle tourists, and adventurers. Services include full repair, wheel building, custom builds, and bike rentals; current owner Shawna took over in 2018 from founder Kathleen Emry and leads a team of mechanics with expertise in older bikes, metal fender installation, and brake work.
