Founded in 2016, Bikes for Kids Wisconsin is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit operating from 354 Coyier Lane in Madison. The shop began its first bike giveaway in 2017 and has since distributed over 14,135 bikes to people facing transportation barriers through partnerships with nonprofits, schools, tribes, and municipalities. It offers low-cost repairs, tune-ups, and used bikes alongside donated accessories like trailers, tagalongs, and racks; it also stocks affordable e-bikes, both new and used.
