About
Bike Works is a nonprofit bicycle shop in South Seattle's Columbia City neighborhood, founded in 1996 to promote bicycling as a vehicle for community change. The shop sells quality used bikes and new used parts and accessories, and operates as a full-service repair facility. Beyond retail, Bike Works runs youth programs (ages 9: 17) including classes, camps, and riding clubs, adult classes and open shop, volunteer opportunities, and free or low-cost services including bike giveaways and a mobile repair program (BikeMobile). The organization's mission centers on empowering youth through bike mechanics and leadership while making bicycling affordable and accessible across Seattle.
