All new bike purchases include three years of complimentary tune-ups and adjustments, covering shift cable tension, derailleur limits, brake adjustments, bearing adjustments, wheel truing (first six months), and any part failures due to manufacturer defect or improper assembly. This service plan does not include consumable parts like tires, brake pads, or chains, flat tire repairs, or repairs from crashes or owner neglect.

Question 2

Accepted Answer

Yes, the shop offers bike and ski rentals available for every season, allowing customers to gear up for adventure regardless of the time of year.

Question 3

What services does Backcountry Bike and Ski provide beyond bike sales?

Accepted Answer

The shop offers professional tune-up packages and à la carte bike repairs, ski and snowboard services including waxing and mounting, and seasonal rentals. The shop also hosts and sponsors community events, including the annual Palmer Classic.

Question 4

How does Backcountry Bike and Ski support the local cycling community?

Accepted Answer

The shop sponsors events throughout the year to cultivate the Matanuska Valley's bike and ski community, provides local trail resources and maps, and promotes trail advocacy and safe cycling. The shop has been actively building community involvement since its founding in 2008.

Question 5

What makes Backcountry Bike and Ski's service plan different from other bike shops?

Accepted Answer

While many specialty shops offer limited 30-day or 100-mile service plans, Backcountry extends complimentary tune-ups across three full years to account for the natural break-in periods of different bike components, which do not always align with time-based or mileage-based service windows.
