Founded in 2012 and under new ownership since 2021, The Bicycle Hub occupies the restored Pecatonica Depot, a former station of the Interurban Railroad (1900s: 1920s), located on Main Street in Pecatonica, Illinois. Owner Richard Backeberg, a UBI-certified mechanic, runs the family shop with his wife Sarah; the store carries Aventon and Rad Power e-bikes alongside new and refurbished vintage bicycles. The shop serves all riders: from children to experienced cyclists: with certified repair service for any make or model, and emphasizes getting families and individuals out on the Pecatonica Prairie Trail and exploring regional cycling routes.
