The BackCountry is an independent ski, bike, and mountain shop in Truckee, California, established in 1994. It carries Yeti, Kona, Pivot, Scott, Norco, Mondraker, and Redline BMX bikes, along with Surly, 45nrth, and Teravail gear for touring and backcountry cycling. The shop offers professional bike mechanics, custom builds, ski and splitboard equipment, climbing gear (Black Diamond, Petzl, La Sportiva, Mammut), and backpacking supplies. Staff provide trail advice, bike repair coaching, and equipment fitting across cycling, backcountry skiing, rock climbing, and backpacking.
