Founded in 1998 as a weekend warehouse shop in San Francisco, Sports Basement has grown to 15 California locations with in-house bike and ski departments. The Almaden location in San Jose carries Cannondale, Felt, Surly, Aventon, 45NRTH, and Teravail alongside Shimano and SRAM components. The chain hosts over 5,000 community events annually and distributes 10% of profits to local schools and non-profits through its Basementeers membership program.
