South Side Cyclery has operated in St. Louis since 1933, when Velmo Chappuis opened Meramec Cycle; the shop was acquired by the Kakouris family in 2021 and continues under new ownership. The shop carries Cannondale, Fuji, Giant, Liv, Surly, 45NRTH, and Teravail, alongside components from Shimano and SRAM, and stocks road, mountain, gravel, hybrid, and electric bikes. It offers bike service, classes and clinics, and hosts rides and community events.
