Founded in April 1986 by Jim Rose as a home-based bicycle business, Rose Bike moved to Main Street in Orono in 1989 and later expanded to a Pine Street retail location. The shop carries Trek, Transition, Electra, and Otso bicycles alongside Surly and other brands, with full repair services and winter sports equipment (fat bikes, Nordic skis, Nordic skates). It serves the University of Maine community and Orono residents with mechanics experienced in general repair, specialty tuning, and year-round cycling and winter sports.
