Question 1

How often should a bike come in for service at Ramsey Bicycle?

Accepted Answer

Most riders benefit from annual service, especially before busy spring and summer riding seasons. Bikes that have sat unused for months, mountain bikes, electric bikes, and bikes used for daily commuting often need more frequent attention due to increased wear from wet roads, dirt trails, gravel, and hills.

Question 2

What are signs a bike needs professional service?

Accepted Answer

Common warning signs include squeaking brakes, slow or hesitant shifting, loose handlebars, wobbly wheels, flat tires, grinding sounds, or chains that skip under pressure. Shifting problems (such as the bike shifting on its own or making clicking sounds) often indicate the drivetrain needs adjustment.

Question 3

Why is bike fit important, and how can the shop help?

Accepted Answer

Proper bike fit affects comfort, control, and confidence. A bike that is too large, too small, or poorly adjusted can cause strain in the back, shoulders, wrists, knees, or hips. In-person fit guidance at a bike shop can make a significant difference in the riding experience.

Question 4

Does Ramsey Bicycle service electric bikes?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Because electric bikes are heavier and faster than standard bikes, their brakes and tires experience added wear. Technicians can inspect mechanical components and identify concerns related to the electric system, which is especially helpful for riders using e-bikes for commuting or longer rides.

Question 5

Can Ramsey Bicycle help find the right bike size for growing children?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The shop can review seat height, handlebar reach, and overall control to ensure a proper fit. Since kids can grow quickly between seasons, in-person sizing support helps families find bikes that fit now while still accommodating growth.
