Opened in 1982, Outspokin' Bicycles was among the first professional bike shops in the Southeast, and remains one of the area's earliest Trek and Specialized dealers. Owned by Brian Curran since 1997, the shop operates two locations in Columbia and Irmo, South Carolina, and carries Trek, State Bicycle Co., Bontrager, Salsa, 45NRTH, Electra, Teravail, Shimano, and SRAM. The shop offers professional bike fitting (Curran is Trek Level 2 and F.I.S.T certified), USCF-certified mechanics, wheel building, and tune-ups; fittings cover road, triathlon, mountain, cyclocross, and commuter bikes. Staff are required to ride regularly and range from category-1 racers to casual trail riders.
