Now Bikes opened as Cross Country Ski Chalet in November 1972 and added bicycles in spring 1973; Paul Himmelman took over at age 20 in 1976, and co-owner Bob Sumada joined in 1978. The shop operated seven locations before consolidating to two stores over 6,000 square feet each in Arden Hills and St. Paul. Now carries Cannondale, Pinarello, Cervelo, Salsa, All-City, Surly, Pivot, Giant, Liv, Gazelle, Denago, 45NRTH, and Teravail, with services including bike fitting, repair, custom builds, and a custom bike configurator. The shop hosts regular group rides (Tuesday Night Ride in Arden Hills, Thursday Night Ride in St. Paul) and conducts bike sales events.
