Founded in 1990 as a home-based bike repair business by Paul Burgess, Mud Sweat and Gears expanded into retail in 2006 and now operates eight locations across Alberta (Sherwood Park, Spruce Grove, Edmonton West, Edmonton South, Red Deer, and three others). The Spruce Grove location, opened in 2013 after acquiring Bullseye Bikes, carries premium brands including Santa Cruz, Transition, Pivot, and Evil Bikes alongside Canadian staples Kona, Norco, and Rocky Mountain, plus Electra cruisers and full-family bikes. Year-round service covers bikes in summer and skis and snowboards October: May; the shop explicitly services all brands and has built a multi-sport community presence across the region.
