About
Ichi Bike operates two locations in Des Moines: the flagship in the Historic East Village (311 East Walnut St) and a second garage in Highland Park (3705 6th Ave). The shop specializes in electric bikes from Velotric, Gazelle, Segway, Tern, Bosch, Bulls, and Stromer, alongside cargo, cruisers, BMX, and vintage bikes. Owner Daniel Koenig and wrench Zach Garwick focus on custom builds and personalized service, with the shop's name reflecting its goal of creating bikes where customers feel "me and this bike were made for each other." The shop offers repair and restoration service, test rides on select e-bikes, and hosts Ichi Adventures, a community ride club.
