Steve 'Gravy' Gravenites, a native of Marin County, has built wheels and complete bikes since circa 1976, riding with mountain biking's early pioneers including Joe Breeze and Gary Fisher. Gravy Wheels specializes in custom hand-built wheelsets across road, mountain, downhill, BMX, cyclocross, track, tandem, single-speed, and triathlon disciplines, optimizing each build for the rider's weight, ability, and intended use. The shop has built wheels for National and World Champions including Tinker Juarez, Missy Giove, and Alison Sydor, and wrenched for the Volvo/Cannondale Mountain Bike Race Team in 1994. Located in Fort Bragg, California, Gravy Wheels operates by phone order and also handles general bike repair and owner-supplied part work.
