The Elyria Bicycle Education Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in June 2017 and staffed entirely by volunteers. The shop accepts donated bicycles, restores them to safe and mechanically sound condition, and sells them back to the community for $70: $100. It operates Monday: Tuesday noon to 5 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and actively recruits volunteers for one-shift-per-week commitments with full mechanical training provided.
