About
Founded in 1972 and family-owned from the start, Der Sportsmann serves Leavenworth's outdoor community with gear and knowledge across hiking, climbing, cross-country skiing, and mountain biking. The shop carries Specialized bikes and offers full-day mountain bike rentals (Rockhopper, Stumpjumper, e-bike FSR models), as well as rentals for crash pads, climbing shoes, and XC ski packages (classic, skate, and snowshoe). Located in the Cascades foothills, it positions itself as a local guide to the region's trail systems, boulder problems, and ski tracks.
