What makes Classic Cycle distinctive beyond standard bike repair and sales?

Classic Cycle operates as both a working bike shop and a cycling museum, featuring vintage bicycles on display from 1875 to 1944. The shop provides historical context and educational information about early bicycle design and engineering alongside repair services.

What types of vintage bikes are on display at the museum?

The museum collection includes bicycles prior to 1944, such as a 1907 RaCycle Pace Maker and a 1940 Wastyn Special racing bike. Each bike is documented with detailed information about its original owner, construction techniques, components, and historical significance.

Does Classic Cycle perform restoration work on vintage bicycles?

Yes, the shop has documented experience restoring vintage bikes. For example, Classic Cycle rebuilt the wheels on the 1940 Wastyn Special using hickory wood rims from CB Italia to match the era-appropriate construction.
