Founded in 2009 as a family-owned shop, Blimp City Bike & Hike is positioned just south of Towpath Mile Marker 32 on the Ohio and Erie Canal Towpath in Akron, Ohio. It carries Kona, Surly, Aventon, Denago, 45NRTH, and Teravail alongside Eastern BMX, Montague folding bikes, Trident recumbent trikes, and ElliptiGO stand-up bikes. The shop offers rentals (including electric bikes), tune-ups, wheel truing, axle overhauls, and test rides to ensure proper fit and frame size.
