Question 1

What is a Retül bike fit, and how does it differ from a standard fitting?

Accepted Answer

Bicycle Speed Shop offers dynamic 3D motion capture bike fitting using Retül technology, which records full-body movements and real-time power output to determine optimal riding position. The service includes biomechanical analysis, flexibility assessment, and comprehensive digital reports of 3D body parameters and bike geometry, establishing precise, data-driven positioning that goes beyond basic adjustments.

Question 2

Does Bicycle Speed Shop offer sweat testing, and what is it used for?

Accepted Answer

The shop provides a 45-minute sweat test that measures individual sodium loss during exercise, typically ranging from 200mg to 2,000mg per liter of sweat. Results inform personalized hydration strategy and are generally stable for life, so most riders need only one test to understand their electrolyte needs.

Question 3

Can someone who already owns a bike get a Retül fitting, or is it only for new bike purchases?

Accepted Answer

Bicycle Speed Shop offers both existing bike fits (to optimize current setup) and new bike fits (which include frame geometry recommendations for a new purchase). Existing bike fit customers receive a comprehensive analysis and digital report; those buying a frame from the shop have the Frame Finder consultation fee waived.

Question 4

What qualifications do the mechanics at Bicycle Speed Shop have?

Accepted Answer

The shop employs Certified Barnett Mechanics who provide skilled service, bike fitting, and consulting on high-performance cycling products.

Question 5

Does the shop accept walk-in service, or is an appointment required?

Accepted Answer

Bicycle Speed Shop welcomes walk-ins during business hours for flat tires, adjustments, and immediate issues. For scheduled service, customers can call, text, or email to book an appointment, with same-day turnaround available.
