Backdoor Sports has served Steamboat Springs' backcountry enthusiasts since 1986, owned and operated by Mike, Chris, and Dominique Welch. Located downtown on Yampa Street near Howelson Hill, the shop specializes in telemark, backcountry and alpine touring skiing, kayaking, rafting, rock and ice climbing, and camping. The shop carries Yeti and Shimano components and offers Yampa River rafting trips ($75 adults/$65 youth).
