AlphaBENT (formerly Peregrine Bicycle Works) was founded in 1997 by Hugh Kern as a custom folding-bike shop and pivoted to recumbent trikes starting in 2000; it became a Catrike Concept Store, Premium dealer for ICE and HP Velotechnik, and one of the world's top ICE dealers. The shop operates from downtown Sacramento (1114 C Street, moved there in 2013) and serves the Sacramento and San Francisco Bay Area recumbent market. Core services include nearly 20 years of experience installing Rohloff, Schlumpf, and Bionx systems, custom wheel-building, and spoke cutting; the shop also carries Catrike, ICE, Azub, HP Velotechnik, Hase, and Trident recumbent trikes, plus Bacchetta recumbent bicycles, and can source hand-cycles, tandems, and trailers.
