High alpine riding in Colorado's San Juans

Top bike shops in Telluride, Colorado

Telluride's 12 local bike shops stock trusted brands like Shimano, SRAM, Specialized, Pivot Cycles, and Teravail, essential gear for riding in this high-elevation mountain terrain.

Telluride's cycling scene centers on the dramatic alpine landscape surrounding the town, where elevation, exposure, and technical terrain shape where and how riders explore. Summer months draw mountain bikers to the region's steep backcountry access, while those seeking year-round options navigate the short, intense riding season typical of San Juan peaks. Local shops understand the specific demands of thin-air riding and the durability gear needs when conditions shift quickly in the mountains.
