About

Wheels In Motion, founded in 1933 as Campus Bikes and Toys by Farrell Plotner, has operated in Ann Arbor for nearly a century. The shop is now owned and managed by the Plotner family: DeWight (owner since the 1980s) and Travis (owner since 2016), alongside a deep bench of mechanics and specialists with decades of tenure. Located at 3402 Washtenaw Ave in Ann Arbor, the shop carries Trek, Kona, Pivot, 3T, and Surly bikes, with a professional service center offering general repairs and bike fitting. The staff page emphasizes a multigenerational core of mechanics and salespeople, many with 10+ years at the shop, serving a diverse local riding community across road, gravel, mountain, and fat-bike disciplines.
