Question 1

What bike fitting services does The Bike Shop offer?

Accepted Answer

The shop offers Body Geometry Fit (BG Fit), a comprehensive fitting system developed with Dr. Andy Pruitt of the Boulder Center for Sports Medicine. Sessions include a 19-step physical assessment, bike positioning in a stationary trainer, and 15 adjustments to hip, knee, and foot alignment, priced at $250 with bike purchase or $350 standalone. The shop also provides Bike Sizing appointments ($90 or free with bike purchase) and free test ride adjustments for heel drop, seat height, and handlebar angle.

Question 2

Can The Bike Shop assemble and adjust bikes shipped to Hawaii?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The shop accepts shipped bicycles and offers assembly and adjustment services for $145, which includes reassembling the bike, truing wheels, adjusting brakes and derailleur, and tightening crankarms. Customers must contact the shop in advance to schedule an appointment; the shop will not accept delivery for bikes that will not be assembled by them.

Question 3

Does The Bike Shop offer packing and shipping services for bikes?

Accepted Answer

The shop can disassemble and pack bikes for shipping at two price points: $90 if the customer provides a hard case, or $110 if the shop provides protective packing material and a standard cardboard bike box (a $15 FedEx handling fee applies to both). For reference, shipping from the mainland to Hawaii typically costs $200 or more via FedEx 2nd Day Air, and shipping from Hawaii to the mainland typically ranges $150–$400 depending on destination.
