Question 1

What is Body Geometry Fit, and does The Bike Shop offer it?

Accepted Answer

Body Geometry Fit (BG FIT) is a comprehensive bike-fitting philosophy developed with Dr. Andy Pruitt of the Boulder Center for Sports Medicine, designed to help cyclists maximize power, endurance, and comfort while reducing injury risk. The Bike Shop offers Body Geometry Fit sessions by appointment, which include a 19-step physical assessment, bike positioning in a stationary trainer, and 15 systematic adjustments; the service costs $250 with a bike purchase or $350 without.

Question 2

Does The Bike Shop offer basic bike fitting without the full Body Geometry Fit service?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The Bike Shop provides free Test Ride Adjustments (heel drop, seat height, handlebar angle) on the spot, and also offers Bike Sizing appointments (by appointment only) for $90, or free with a bike purchase, which includes leg extension assessment and saddle sizing.

Question 3

Can The Bike Shop assemble and adjust a bike shipped to Hawaii?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The shop accepts shipped bicycles to Hawaii by appointment only and provides full assembly and adjustment service for $145, which includes wheel truing, brake adjustment, crankarm tightening, and derailleur adjustment. Customers should contact the store in advance to schedule; FedEx 2nd Day Air shipping from the mainland typically costs $200 or more, and the shop recommends shipping at least one week before arrival.

Question 4

Does The Bike Shop pack and ship bikes to the mainland?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The shop offers two packing options: disassembly and packing in a customer-provided hard case for $90, or disassembly with protective packing and a standard cardboard bike box (materials provided) for $110; a $15 FedEx handling fee applies to both. Mainland shipping via FedEx Ground costs $150–$400 depending on destination and box size, with 3–5 days delivery to the west coast and 7–10 days to the east coast.

Question 5

What service and repair capabilities does The Bike Shop have?

Accepted Answer

The Bike Shop offers tune-up and repair services. Specific details on turnaround times, pricing, and the full scope of repairs available can be obtained by contacting the shop directly.
