The Bicycle Tree is a nonprofit community repair and education center in Santa Ana founded around 2003 by volunteers from Food Not Bombs who sought to make tools, knowledge, and bikes accessible to low-income neighborhoods. It operates a main workshop where visitors use tools and repair stands with mechanic assistance, a pop-up repair station at Legacy Square on Tuesdays and Fridays, and the Wrench and Ride eight-week beginner course that includes bike selection, repair, maintenance, safe riding skills, and group rides. The shop sells donated pre-owned bikes alongside new parts and accessories (tires, tubes, chains, cables, locks, supplies), and donates repaired bikes to individuals in need of transportation through its Community Giving program.
